Your payouts go to the bank account on file with Stripe. You can change that account through your business’s Stripe Express settings.
Change the bank account for your business
- Choose the business whose payout account you want to change.
- Open Payments → Payouts.
- Check the bank name, last four digits and currency shown under How you get paid.
- Choose Edit next to the account.
- In Stripe Express, open Settings.
- Under Business details, find Payout details and choose its edit control.
- Complete the verification requested, enter the new account details and save.
Bank details are entered and verified in Stripe. The business’s billing card, under Payment methods, is separate from the bank account that receives payouts.
If you have not added a payout account
Choose Add payout method in Payments → Payouts and complete Stripe’s setup. If setup is incomplete or Stripe needs more information, choose Continue Stripe setup and complete the outstanding requests.
Return to Krabiclaw and review the account shown. Check that you selected the intended business before making any further changes.
Verification when changing an account
After a successful payout, Stripe may require your previous bank details and a six-digit SMS verification code before allowing a bank change. Have access to the account information and the phone number associated with Stripe Express.
A bank change applies to that connected account. If you use other platforms or businesses, update their payout settings separately.
If you do not have the previous bank details
When Stripe asks for the old details, look for the option to verify your identity instead. If offered, complete its identification-document process in Stripe Express.
If that option is missing, review Personal details in Stripe Express and complete any missing verification information. If you still cannot continue, contact Stripe Express support from your account or open Krabiclaw support.
If Stripe asks for a platform update code, contact Krabiclaw support about the request. Do not assume a code has been generated or that the verification step can be skipped.
What happens to a payout already sent
Changing your bank account does not redirect a payout already in transit. Check the destination on that payout’s details, even if a different account is now listed as your default.
If the payout is still pending and the destination is wrong, contact support promptly with the payout ID. Once the receiving bank has processed it, Stripe cannot redirect the deposit.
If the old account is closed
The bank will normally return the payout to your Stripe balance. If the funds have not returned after five business days, contact Stripe Express support with the payout details.
Check the new bank account and any outstanding Stripe instructions before expecting another payout.
If the old account is still open
Contact the receiving bank and ask whether it can return or transfer the deposit. Provide the expected date, exact amount and payer name, Stripe. A change in Stripe Express cannot retrieve money that the bank has already deposited.
If you do not recognize the bank account
Check whether it is an older account you used. If you believe the account was added without your permission, update the destination to an account you control, secure your Stripe Express login, review the account activity and report it to Stripe Express support.
