Connect KrabiClaw to ChatGPT to read your business information and make supported updates to an existing site. Create your first site in the KrabiClaw dashboard before using the connection to edit it.

Choose the setup route you have

There are two different flows. Follow the one available to your account:

Personal plugin during the approval period: use the KrabiClaw listing or installation route provided to you. If you already installed it and new tools are missing, follow Get the latest KrabiClaw tools in ChatGPT. That guide documents the Personal-plugin flow tested in September 2026, including its desktop/tablet browser reinstall step.
Custom MCP app using Developer mode: follow the developer connection steps below when your account or workspace permits this route.

The Personal listing is not guaranteed to appear for every account. Creating a custom MCP app and installing a Personal plugin are different operations; do not assume their menus or mobile availability are the same.

Developer connection

Use ChatGPT in a web browser. Developer-mode access and app creation depend on your ChatGPT plan and workspace permissions. Check OpenAI's current developer-mode instructions if a control is missing.

1. Open the custom-app controls

Open ChatGPT's Apps settings and find the custom-app creation controls. Depending on your workspace, Developer mode is enabled through Apps → Advanced Settings or workspace permissions. Your workspace administrator may need to grant access.

2. Enter the KrabiClaw connection details

Use:

Name: KrabiClaw
Description: Manage your KrabiClaw website
MCP server URL / Connection: https://krabiclaw.com/api/mcp
Authentication: OAuth

Copy the exact HTTPS server URL into the connection field. Do not substitute your business's public website domain.

3. Authorize and finish creating the app

Follow the displayed tool-scan and creation flow. When prompted, sign in to the KrabiClaw account that has access to your business and review the requested access before approving it.

Only connect a server you trust. The connection can make real changes to content your account is authorized to manage.

4. Start a new chat and select KrabiClaw

Select the connected app from the available tools or mention it in a new chat. Custom MCP app support and available surfaces follow OpenAI's current requirements; do not assume a developer-created app will work in the mobile app.

Check the connection without changing anything

Ask these separately:

“Which KrabiClaw tools are available in this chat?”
“Which businesses can I manage with KrabiClaw?”
“Show me the current pages for [my business]. Do not change anything.”

The first checks the loaded tool catalog. The next two check access to your account and business. Seeing tools does not prove that the correct business is connected.

If you manage several businesses, choose one explicitly before making any edits.

What the connection can do

The connection operates within your KrabiClaw membership and the tools available in the chat. Supported actions include editing existing-site content, products, media, existing locations, and manually authored language variants, plus drafting and publishing posts to selected destinations.

Reviews, Q&A, contact inquiries, and table-reservation inquiries are available for reading. The connection does not provide review replies, Q&A writing, inquiry replies/status changes, or managed-service work requests.

Troubleshooting

The MCP server address opens this help page

That is expected when the URL is opened as a normal browser page. Browser requests for HTML at https://krabiclaw.com/api/mcp redirect to this setup guide. Paste the endpoint into the MCP connection field; opening it in a browser does not install the connection.

ChatGPT cannot connect

Check the exact URL, HTTPS, and accidental spaces. Confirm that you completed the OAuth sign-in and that the KrabiClaw account is the one with access to your business.

I cannot find Developer mode or Create app

Check the route, plan, and workspace permissions in OpenAI's linked guidance. Switching devices alone does not grant developer access. If you were given a Personal-plugin installation route, use that route instead of creating a custom app.

New KrabiClaw tools are missing

Start a completely new chat with KrabiClaw selected. For the tested approval-period Personal-plugin flow, use the reinstall and tool-check guide. Confirm you have a way to reinstall before uninstalling. Refresh tools alone did not update the catalog in that tested flow.

The tools appear, but my business is missing

Check which KrabiClaw account authorized the connection and whether your team invitation has been accepted. Business access and tool availability are separate checks.

Next step

Ask KrabiClaw to read one existing page and suggest a small improvement. Review the wording, request the specific edit, and open the public page to verify it.

Check your setup route
Use the Personal-plugin installation route provided to you, or use developer-mode custom-app setup if your ChatGPT account and workspace permit it. These are separate flows.
Open custom-app settings on the web
For developer setup, use ChatGPT Apps settings and the developer controls available to your account. Ask your workspace administrator if access is required.
Enter the endpoint and authentication
Use KrabiClaw as the name, https://krabiclaw.com/api/mcp as the MCP server URL, and OAuth for authentication.
Authorize and finish setup
Follow the displayed scan and creation steps. Sign in to the intended KrabiClaw account, review access, and approve only if you trust the connection.
Start a new chat
Select KrabiClaw in a new chat on a supported surface.
Verify without changing content
Ask which tools are available, which businesses you can manage, and to read the current pages of your intended business without editing them.
